Some NH Republicans propose 15-day abortion ban

THAT THE 15 DAY ABORTION BAN JUST WON’T HAPPEN. DEMOCRATS ARE RAISING ALARMS AFTER NEW LEGISLATION WAS PRE-FILED IN THE STATE HOUSE TO BAN ABORTION IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AFTER JUST 15 DAYS OF PREGNANCY. EVEN ONE OF THE BILL’S SPONSORS IS SKEPTICAL ABOUT THE MEASURE’S CHANCES OF PASSING. YOU THINK THIS BILL HAS ANY SHOT? HONESTLY, AT GOING THROUGH? NO PASS LEGISLATION LIKE A FETAL HEARTBEAT BILL WAS VOTED DOWN BY BOTH DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS IN 82. REPUBLICANS VOTED AGAINST IT ALONG WITH, I BELIEVE, EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT EXCEPT MAYBE 1 OR 2. SO THEREFORE, NO, I DON’T BELIEVE IT HAS ANY HAS ANY LEGS. REPRESENTATIVE JOHN SELLERS SAYS EVEN THOUGH THE 15 DAY ABORTION BAN LIKELY WON’T BECOME LAW, HE STILL SUPPORTS IT OUT OF PRINCIPLE, IN MY OPINION. IS IS LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION. ALL RIGHT. SO THEREFORE, IF SOMEONE CHOOSES TO TERMINATE THAT LIFE, THEY ARE KILLING A BABY. HOUSE DEMOCRATS SAY THEY’LL STAND UP TO ENSURE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH DECISIONS. REPRESENTATIVE ALEX SIMPSON WRITING IN A STATEMENT. THE 15 DAY ABORTION BAN FILED BY REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS IS DANGEROUS, EXTREME AND OUT OF TOUCH WITH GRANITE STATERS. AT 15 DAYS, MOST WOMEN DO NOT EVEN KNOW THEY ARE PREGNANT. WE MUST SAY IT LIKE IT IS THIS PROPOSAL WOULD AMOUNT TO COMPLETE ABORTION BAN IN NEW HAMPSHIRE. EVEN REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR CHRIS SUNUNU IS DOUBTING THE PROPOSAL’S CHANCES, SAYING IN A STATEMENT TO NEWS 9. I THINK IT’S SAFE TO SAY WE ARE PUTTING THIS ONE IN THE CRAZY PILE. NOW, THIS BILL JUST PART OF AN EFFORT BY REPUBLICANS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO PUSH FOR MORE ABORTION RESTRICTIONS AFTER THE SUPREME COURT OVERTURNED ROE V WADE LAST YEAR

Therefore, no, I don’t believe it has any legs,” said Rep. John Sellers, R-Bristol.Sellers said that even though this likely will happen again, he still signed out of principle.”My opinion is life begins at conception. Alright, so therefore, if someone chooses to determinate that life, they’re killing a baby,” Sellers said. The bill would mean a virtual outright ban on abortion, marking the latest push from Republicans across the country to institute more abortion restrictions after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year. But House Democrats said they’ll stand up to ensure reproductive health decisions. Rep. Alexis Simpson, D-Exeter, wrote in a statement: “The 15-day abortion ban filed by Republican lawmakers is dangerous, extreme, and out of touch with Granite Staters.
