“SNL” returned to the air for the latest episode in its 50th season on Saturday, March 8, with Lady Gaga pulling double duty as host and musical.

The singer and actress born Stefani Germanotta first pulled double duty as host and musical guest back in 2009, but has also regularly participated in pre-taped sketches during the episodes where she was solely the musical guest.

Gaga is enough of an “SNL” regular that she was featured in the “SNL 50” concert spectacular, performing a medley of Lonely Island songs with Andy Samberg.

The March 8 episode kicked off with a political cold open that satirized the goings-on in the White House, with President Trump (James Austin Johnson) dressing down Marco Rubio (Marcello Hernandez). In what could become a recurring role, former “SNL” cast member Mike Myers was back as Elon Musk, reprising the impression he debuted during last week’s Shane Gillis-hosted episode.

I mentioned in last week’s recap that Myers had let a few of his Austin Powers mannerisms sneak into his Musk impression. This time around, Myers made direct reference to the villain of the Austin Powers film series, Dr. Evil, when noting his net worth had diminished by $100 billion.

Check out the videos below to see highlights from the latest episode of “SNL,” including Gaga’s opening monologue, her performance of two new songs from her just-released album “Mayhem,” and all of the guests visiting Colin Jost and Michael Che at the “Weekend Update” desk — including Kenan Thompson as former Boston Celtics big man turned studio analyst Kendrick Perkins.
