Jon Hamm hosted the April 12 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” with Lizzo as musical guest.

“SNL” returned to the air for the latest episode in its 50th season on Saturday, April 12, with Jon Hamm serving as host and Lizzo as musical guest.

Hamm was hosting “SNL” for the fourth time, but the first since 2010. Hamm went on a hosting run during his time playing Don Draper on the AMC drama “Mad Men,” hosting in 2008 and twice in 2010.

While it had been 15+ years since “Jon Hamm’s John Ham” and the sax-playing hunk in “The Curse,” Hamm is clearly appreciated by the “SNL” higher-ups. Hamm has made 14 cameo appearances since his last hosting gig, a point the actor emphasized during his opening monologue.

The cameos were fast and furious in this week’s episode, with “Succession” star Kieran Culkin — spotted in the audience alongside Bill Burr during last week’s Jack Black-hosted episode — getting the ball rolling with an appearance during Hamm’s monologue.

Later in the show, during the political-themed “White Lotus” parody “The White POTUS,” we saw the return of former cast members Beck Bennett and Alex Moffat, as well as Scarlett Johansson in the role of Ivanka Trump. And musical guest Lizzo was worked into a sketch as well, playing a baby in “New Parents.”
