A sea of yellow will take over Fenway Park again when the Savannah Bananas return to Boston for two games in summer 2025.
The viral exhibition team will play the Firefighters at the historic ballpark just after the Fourth on July 5-6 as part of their “2025 Banana Ball World Tour.”
Who are the Savanah Bananas?
The Bananas, essentially baseball’s Harlem Globetrotters, made their first appearance at the home of the Red Sox for a sold-out game this past June.
The game featured cameos from three Red Sox champions and a Red Sox Hall of Fame pitcher. Jonathan Papelbon, Mitch “2-bags” Moreland, Jonny Gomes, and Bill “Spaceman” Lee each appeared in yellow jerseys, either taking the mound or the batter box for Savannah.
Following a “fans first, entertain always” philosophy, TikTok’s favorite baseball team promises a high-energy, fun-filled game for all.
As for the actual baseball game, the team follows a unique set of rules for what it deems “Banana Ball.” Not familiar? Check out the official banana ball rules, as well as Boston.com’s previous coverage from the Bananas’ summer 2023 stop in Brockton.
How to get tickets for the Savannah Bananas game at Fenway Park
Tickets for Savannah Bananas games are drawn via a lottery. Fans interested in attending any of the “2025 Banana Ball World Tour” games, including the July games at Fenway Park and Feb. 14-16 games at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Meyers, Florida, can sign up for the lottery list by Nov. 1.
It does not matter when fans enter the lottery list, so long as they do so by the deadline. Random drawings take place about two months before each event. If a fan is chosen, they will then get the chance to purchase tickets, which start at $35 for a standard ticket and $100 for a VIB experience ticket, according to the website.
