“I almost forgot, New England’s f***ing tough as s**t,” the singer-songwriter said.

Role Model, at Leader Bank Pavilion, Boston, Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026. 

“Rain don’t stop for anyone,” Role Model sings in “Joy.” And apparently, neither does a nor’easter. Fans braved the wind and rain Sunday night for Role Model’s Boston show at Leader Bank Pavilion. 

Fans flocked to the oceanside and largely uncovered concert venue in the Seaport despite icy winds and flood warnings, to see Role Model’s, “Chuck on Tour” for his most recent album “Chuck Timely and the Hourglass.” Despite a nasty and consistent spray of rain and seawater, Role Model kept the crowd on their feet dancing and forgetting the cold. 

Born Tucker Pillsbury in Maine, the artist who performs as Role Model hit his first commercial success back in 2020 with his song “Blind” taking over TikTok. However the New England native didn’t find consistent success until a dramatic genre switch in his 2024 release of his album “Kansas Anymore.” That marked the first time he took on his folk-pop-rock sound that carries his undeniable charisma through to the crowd. 

He became a well-known name when touring his song “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out,” which included inviting one lucky fan onstage to be “Sally” for the night.  

His subsequent release, “Chuck Timely and the Hourglass,” has given him a steady and growing audience ever since. The sold out show at Leader Bank Pavilion was a warm welcome home despite the chilly, rainy New England weather. 

Wearing a Red Sox hat, he announced to the crowd he initially thought they’d have to cancel, then feared no one would show up. 

“I almost forgot, New England’s f***ing tough as s**t,” Role Model said. 

The rain didn’t seem to dampen the crowd’s energy. The crowd exploded at the first strike of each song, bouncing with their hands up in the chilling wind. Despite the brutal New England weather, something about the Leader Bank Pavilion felt warm Sunday night, like there was no better way to welcome a fellow New Englander home than a nor’easter.

“I know we’re close to Maine because that girl’s holding a picture of my senior photo,” Role Model announced, then showed the girl and a photo from his high school yearbook on the two large screens. 

The singer could barely be heard over the crowd when he sang the line “New England born and raised.”

Lights danced around the white tent of the amphitheater, lighting up the harsh rain and the crowds dancing. Role Model kept the set simple, letting the music speak for itself without a complex performance. His pop with Americana and classic rock influences is truly meant to be heard live to be able to appreciate the melt of piano into electric guitar. 

He was accompanied by a five-person band and played the guitar himself for a few songs, but generally stayed at the microphone, remarking after the third song that he came to dance. 

The singer certainly felt at home, joining the crowd not once, not twice, but four times. After the last time he danced with the audience, he told the crowd that watching them dance gave him FOMO — fear of missing out — and he just had to join them. “I got very jealous,” Role Model said. 

Toward the end of the show, the crowd belted out Role Model’s emotional hit, “Some Protector,” as the nor’easter’s wind and rain provided a fitting backdrop to the devastating tune. 

“Thank God I’m in New England,” he said.
