Social media is abuzz with the possibility of Netflix filming Season 10 of the hit dating show “Love Is Blind” in Boston.

The most recent season of “Love Is Blind” just wrapped up earlier this week, with the Season 8 reunion episode debuting on Netflix on Sunday. But fans of the hit dating series are already looking forward to more, including a future season possibly filming right now in Boston.

While the evidence is circumstantial at the moment, it sure looks like Season 10 of “Love Is Blind” will be set in Boston, and filming is taking place as we speak.

Here’s what we know so far.

Is “Love Is Blind” filming in Boston?

Netflix representatives did not respond to a request for comment when asked whether a new season of “Love Is Blind” is currently filming in Boston.

However, a Boston.com reporter spotted a cameraman shooting B-roll on State Street on Tuesday afternoon, just up the street from where filming allegedly took place at the New England Aquarium.

“I went to the aquarium today and there were TONS of dudes taking filler video of the penguins and fish,” wrote a user on the “Love Is Blind” subreddit, who also snapped a photo of the couple being filmed. “I asked someone what they were filming and was told ‘a reality TV show’ but they wouldn’t say anything else.”

The rumors of “Love Is Blind” filming in Boston started on Saturday, when a TikTok user posted a video at Loco in South Boston, claiming that a dating show featuring the show’s trademark gold cups filming at the bar. (To be clear, the video has no sound and no actual evidence of filming taking place.)

Most tellingly, Netflix’s production partner on “Love Is Blind,” Kinetic Content, put out an casting call for the show back in August, seeking aspiring cast members from across New England who were “brave, open-minded, and ready for a committed relationship.”

Wait, what is ‘Love Is Blind’?

“Love Is Blind” became one of Netflix’s biggest pandemic hits following its February 2020 debut. Contestants are matched up as couples through a blind speed dating process, and are then confined to pods for 10 days. They are only able to communicate with their partner through a speaker, and are only able to see their partner once a marriage proposal has been accepted.

After that, the couples go on a retreat, and later move in to an apartment in a specific city together. That’s where the filming in Boston comes in.

Since its debut, the series has become one of Netflix’s sturdiest hits, with international spinoffs airing in ten different countries, and an eleventh (France) debuting later this year.

“Love Is Blind” isn’t the only show that microwaves relationships for the delight of its viewing audience. It also wouldn’t be the first of these shows to seek contestants from Boston.

The Lifetime show “Married at First Sight” filmed two of its seasons in Boston. Though seven of the eight couples featured in the two Boston seasons of “MAFS” got married, only cosmetologist Shawniece Jackson and elementary school teacher Jephte Pierre are still together.

When would a Boston season of ‘Love Is Blind’ be released?

Netflix typically films seasons of “Love Is Blind” approximately a year in advance, and releases two seasons per year, which typically begin streaming in February/March and September/October.

Netflix has only aired eight seasons of “Love Is Blind” so far, but a ninth season, expected to debut this fall, was filmed in Denver.

For the last few winter seasons, Netflix has released the first batch of episodes on Valentine’s Day.

If that pattern holds, and Netflix is indeed currently filming “Love Is Blind” in Boston as suspected, then the most likely scenario would be for a Boston-set “Love Is Blind” Season 10 to get a release date for Valentine’s Day 2026.
