Emily Ratajkowski on Her Son, Britney Spears and Rewriting Her Narrative

Emily Ratajkowski opens up to ET’s Deidre Behar about her unfiltered and candid book of essays, ‘My Body,’ available now. The 30-year-old model-turned-actress explains what she hopes to accomplish with sharing her deeply personal stories, and how she hopes it makes both women and men feel. She also hopes that by sharing her experiences first-hand, she’s rewriting and reclaiming her own narrative. Ratajkowski’s book includes an essay titled ‘Toxic,’ (aptly named after one of Britney Spears’ biggest hits) which centers around the intense media scrutiny the pop star endured in the early aughts. Ratajkowski admits she initially thought about omitting the essay, but explains why she ultimately kept it in. She also reveals if she’s connected with Spears and how she hopes the 39-year-old singer reacts to her words. The new mom, who gave birth to son Sylvester in March, thinks ahead to the future when he’s old enough to read her book. Ratajkowski says she’s hopeful that he’ll learn a lot from her life story and subsequent lessons and wisdom. Exclusives from #EntertainmentTonight :
