HI THERE. I’M METEOROLOGIST A.J. BURNETT. THANKS FOR LOGGING ON WITH US. WE’VE GOT A BLUSTERY MIDDAY AHEAD OF US FOR TODAY AS WIND GUSTS MAY TOP OUT ABOVE 30 40MPH IN SOME CASES. HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS, RIGHT. ONCE WE GET TOWARD ABOUT ONE, TWO, 3:00 THIS AFTERNOON, WINDS WILL START TO ABATE A LITTLE BIT. AND CERTAINLY AFTER SUNSET, THEY’LL DROP OFF PRETTY MARKEDLY. AND I THINK WE’RE LOOKING AT A WHOLE LOT LESS WIND OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. WIND ADVISORIES REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL 1:00 THIS AFTERNOON. AREAS NORTH AND WEST OF BOSTON, AS WELL AS PARTS OF THE CAPE AND THE ISLANDS. THIS IS ENOUGH WIND TO MAYBE CAUSE SOME LOCALIZED, YOU KNOW, WIND GUSTS THAT COULD BRING DOWN TREE LIMBS, THAT SORT OF THING. BUT I THINK THAT WOULD BE THE EXCEPTION RATHER THAN THE RULE OUT THERE. JUST HANG ON TO YOUR HATS. IF YOU’RE HEADING OUTDOORS TODAY. NEXT STORM SYSTEM IN THE PLAINS STATES HERE. THIS WILL MOVE ALMOST DUE EAST. IT’S NOT ONE OF THOSE STORMS THAT WILL BE COMING UP THE COAST AT US, AND IT PASSES JUST SOUTH OF NEW ENGLAND OVERNIGHT TONIGHT INTO FIRST THING TOMORROW. AND THERE YOU GO. THERE’S THAT AREA OF LOW PRESSURE KIND OF SCOOTING OVER THE DELMARVA, LET’S CALL IT, AND IT FLINGS JUST ENOUGH MOISTURE BACK TOWARD THE CAPE AND THE ISLANDS SOUTH COAST, WHERE YOU MAY SEE SOME MINOR ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW DOWN THAT WAY, THE WINDS WILL START CRANKING BEHIND THE STORM SYSTEM AS IT DRAGS DOWN COLDER AIR AS WELL FOR LATER THIS WEEKEND INTO THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK. AGAIN, NOT TALKING. A WHOLE LOT OF SNOW AROUND HERE. A COATING IN MOST CASES THERE MAY BE LOCALIZED SPOTS THAT PICK UP AN INCH DOWN TOWARD THE SOUTH COAST AND OUT THROUGH THE BERKSHIRES AS WELL. BECAUSE OF ELEVATION, YOU MAY END UP WITH AN INCH OR TWO INCHES IN SOME CASES. SEVEN DAY FORECAST LIKE THIS. AFTER THE STORM COMES THROUGH OR HEADS JUST TO THE SOUTH OF NEW ENGLAND, THAT IS, UH, WE’RE LOOKING AT A LITTLE BIT OF A COOLER WEEKEND FOR US. CHILLY, IF YOU WILL. MID 30S FOR HIGH TEMPERATURES, WINDS KICKING UP SATURDAY AND ON THROUGH SUNDAY. I THINK IT’S PRETTY BLUSTERY. STAYS BREEZY ON MONDAY. PRESIDENTS DAY, FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL VACATION HERE IN MASSACHUSETTS. THAT LOOKS LIKE A BRIGHT START TO NEXT WEEK AS WELL WITH A WHOLE LOT OF SUNSHINE. AND HERE’S THE OTHER BIT OF GOOD NEWS FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE AWAITING SPRING. YOUR TEMPERATURES
