Two indicted for July home invasion killing of 62-year-old in Fitchburg, Mass.

Two Massachusetts men were indicted last week on charges including murder and home invasion in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in July. Michael Parks, 62, of Fitchburg, was fatally wounded inside a home on Marshall Street in Fitchburg at approximately 9:25 p.m. on July 28, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early’s office. Thomas Martin, 45, and Christian Collins, 37, both of Worcester, were originally arrested days after the crime. They were held without bail on charges of murder and home invasion.Friday’s indictment by a grand jury moves the case to Worcester Superior Court and adds charges of armed assault in a dwelling, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm without an FID card.Martin was also indicted on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.Both suspects will be arraigned on the new charges at a later date, Early’s office said.
