
Police investigate deadly daytime shooting in Boston neighborhood
Numerous officers of the Boston Police Department closed down a Dorchester street on Friday afternoon to investigate a fatal shooting. Police said the situation in the area of 46 Corona St. was reported around 2:46 p.m.Flying over the area, Sky5 saw rings of red and yellow crime scene tape and numerous evidence markers. Officers were seen working around what appeared to be a body on the sidewalk. Investigators said a shot spotter in the area went off, triggering their response. “I’m always concerned when we see violent incidents happening in broad daylight,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden, said. “We’re way too early in this investigation at this point to be able to know any significance there.”Police said homicide investigators and district investigators are on scene canvasing for video as well as for witnesses.No arrests have been made and police did not immediately identify the victim. Corona Street was closed for the investigation.Police are searching for video of this incident and the neighborhood trauma team has been out in this neighborhood handing out pamphlets for people who need it.One neighbor told WCVB that shootings have become so frequent, they’re now numb.
