No spring chicken: Mystery person in a chicken suit spotted roaming east Nashville when it snows

When snow fell recently in east Nashville, Tennessee, more than just the plow trucks, the snow shovelers, and the sled riders were seen about town.Multiple residents of the area are scratching their heads and asking “Why?”That’s because someone has been roaming around town dressed as a chicken. And they seem to only come out when it snows.“I saw a man-sized chicken walking around on two legs,” Peter Swan told WTVF. Shannon Tompson has also seen the chicken. “They only appear when it is snowing,” Tompson said. Tompson nor Swan know who is wearing the costume or why they’re doing it. But residents seem amused. Faith Bendt hadn’t seen the chicken yet. But she’s hoping to get a glimpse. “I think it’s hilarious and I want to see the chicken now,” Bendt said.Others are curious about the situation.”I would love to know a little more about this bird,” Peter Swan said.Another resident described the moment that they saw the person dressed as fowl. “Just like a beacon, coming through the snow you see this chicken,” a resident, identified by WTVF only as Nathan, said. Nathan also said that the bird person is, “At least 5′,11”, probably in the 6-foot range.”Peter Swan told WTVF that the person dressed as the barnyard bird was “accompanied by other humans.” “None of them had feathers,” Peter Swan said of those who were with the person dressed as a chicken. Tompson said others have seen the chicken person. “When we were here yesterday and as soon as Nathan pointed out that the snow chicken was going by, everybody crowded to the windows, everyone got their phones out,” Tompson said.See more in the video player above
