Infant’s remains found at waterfront park in Mass., DA says
Massachusetts authorities say the decomposing body of an infant was discovered at a waterfront park in New Bedford on Saturday.The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said New Bedford police responded to Fort Taber Park at about 12:40 p.m. Saturday when an adult walking along a path by the water saw a blanket and detected an odor of decay coming from it.Responding officers found the infant’s remains in that blanket, and the body was transported to the state’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.The district attorney’s office has not yet released any further details about the incident.The incident is being investigated by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to that office and the New Bedford Police Department.
