German field remade into Patriots home turf for Sunday’s game

German field remade into Patriots home turf for Sunday’s game against Colts

Hi, everybody. Welcome inside Frankfurt Stadium. Technically Deutsche Bank part now they seat 60,000 here for soccer, but it’s going to seat 48,000 on Sunday for the Colts Patriots game. You can see the ultra violet light behind me. They’re actually growing the grass here. It’s *** synthetic grass mix. So you see some turf, actual turf field, but it looks mostly it feels mostly like grass and dirt underneath. We have *** chance to actually touch it and see it and what it feels like. So we expect players to be wearing longer cleats for this game. The roof itself, they can actually open this, it’s closed now because we have inclement weather. It was closed last weekend for Chiefs Dolphins because they did have rain. They’re expecting it to be nicer this Sunday. So they’re hoping they can actually open this canopy type roof and we expect the crowd to be much louder. We talk to people here in Germany, they tend to sing, they tend to be *** little bit more vocal as far as the cheering goes and we expect it to be mostly Patriots fans. Patriots have *** huge influence. We’ve already seen it on the streets over here on our flight over, we saw so many Patriots fans actually on the Patriots sideline here. So this is where the players will be. It’s an exciting time here as one fan said, hey, it’s been *** disappointing season, but this is kind of our Super Bowl. That’s what I kind of heard of people making the trip from Boston on *** flight here to Frankfurt for now in Frankfurt, Duke Castiglione WCVB sportscenter Five.
