Three people suffered injuries after a vehicle crashed into the front lobby of a Marlborough, Massachusetts, office building Thursday evening.Video from Sky 5 showed the red vehicle had crashed through the front lobby entrance of the multi-story office building at 377 Simarano Drive. “A high-speed erratic driver… came down the ramp and went straight into the building,” Eric Christensen, Batallion Chief for the city of Marlborough Fire Department, said. “It didn’t seem like they had slowed down at all.”The building’s entrance was located at the end of an exit ramp for Interstate 495. Massachusetts State Police were on the lookout for a speeding car on the highway. Surveillance video shows it speeding down the off ramp, through an intersection, straight into the business parking lot, smashing into the glass entrance of the building.Christensen said there were two people inside of the vehicle, both unconscious, when first responders arrived at the scene. “One of them was pinned underneath a dash,” Christensen said. First responders said it took approximately 35 minutes to remove one of the victims from the vehicle.A medical helicopter flew the victim to a nearby hospital. An update on their condition was not immediately available.Christensen said a receptionist sitting at the front desk of the business had some glass fragments hit her and suffered cuts to her face. Christensen said the crash could have been much worse. “He had hit part of the building where it slowed him down enough once he got into the entrance,” Christensen said. “If he was another foot to the left, he might have gone all the way through the building to the back because it’s a pretty straight shot.”The building had a sign for IPG Photonics outside. It took a little more than three hours to pull the car out of the building and tow it away.
