We have *** good team. We really do, uh, I think we have uh *** *** balanced team that, uh, we can do *** lot of things, uh, on the field as far as like position players we we saw it last year, uh, that this part here is the one that excites me, um, you know, obviously the addition of crochet Chapman, uh, Walker, you know, Wilson. Uh, it’s, it, it’s different, it’s different, uh, we have, we got some big boys now, and, uh, we’re *** lot deeper than in the past. If you take *** look at our seasons the last 3 years, that’s what people talk about, right? Uh, we were there by the training deadline and then we tell off, uh, and I think it was, it was actually not the position players, yeah, we go up and down with the offense, but we ran *** pitching and I, I do believe we’re deep enough. Now that if something happens with with the starters we we got some capable guys that can come in and and help us for 3 stars for *** month for *** month and *** half and we didn’t have that in the past. Yeah, I think, uh, you know, given that I’m sitting here now and saying that we’re focused on winning as many games in 25 as as we can and, uh, you know, believing that we have *** team that’s capable of making the the playoffs, my hope is that as we approach the trade deadline we’re gonna be in *** position. In *** position to add, um, you know, to supplement the roster, uh, and you know I’ve never been *** part of *** Red Sox team as *** player or in this position where we haven’t had the the resources and support to to do that at the deadline.

As spring training begins for Boston Red Sox pitchers and catchers, fans and team executives alike hope their performances in the season ahead will restore the franchise’s fortunes.The Red Sox finished the 2024 season 81-81 without a ticket to the playoffs. In Fort Myers, however, JetBlue Park is full of optimism. “We’re a lot deeper than in the past,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said at the outset of spring training.Chief baseball officer Craig Breslow said it more directly.”I’m sitting here now and saying that we are focused on winning as many games in 2025 as we can and, you know, believing that we have a team that’s capable of making the playoffs,” he said. For Boston fans, that would be a welcome change. The team hasn’t had a winning record since 2021. “We go up and down with the offense, but we ran out of pitching,” Cora said about recent seasons. With pitchers Garrett Crochet, Aroldis Chapman, Walker Buehler, Justin Wilson and others in the bullpen this year, Cora said he was optimistic about long-term performance on the mound. “I do believe we’re deep enough now that if something happens with the starters, we got some capable guys that can come in and help us,” he said.
