5-year-old boy’s Make-A-Wish fulfilled after meeting WWE’s Roman Reigns

Among the thousands going to see WWE Smackdown at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Friday night was a boy who wished to see one of the professional wrestlers.Five-year-old Allen Newsom is a Make-A-Wish child born with a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome.His mom, Dominique Hawthorn, says this meant the left side of his heart didn’t have enough blood flowing through it.“A week after he was born, he had his first surgery. Then, a year and a half later, he had his second one, and then his last one was about a year and a half ago,” Hawthorn said. Hawthorn said she’s kept Allen home a lot because he gets sick easily, but says their doctor suggested trying for Make-A-Wish. “I always wanted to take him to every event that I go to, but he was still so little and fragile,” Hawthorn said. “So now, his doctors figure he’s ready.”Allen and his family are huge fans of WWE.When his mom gave him three choices for his Make-A-Wish, he chose to meet wrestler Roman Reigns. “I feel like he should just come out here and express himself and show the world like who he is and what he went through and what he’s still going through,” Hawthorn said. Another Make-A-Wish child from Michigan came in to meet John Cena.WWE also gave out free Smackdown tickets to Make-A-Wish families in the area.
