Twin sisters deliver babies on the same day

Caroline Giguere and Candice Hipp are twins, born just minutes apart.The sisters grew up together and now live across the street from each other. For the past nine months, they’ve been pregnant together.And, in adjacent hospital rooms in Greenville, South Carolina, they gave birth on the same day, 35 minutes apart. The sisters learned they had the same due date, May 11, but decided to be induced on May 5.Even during labor in separate rooms, the twins found a way to be there for each other through FaceTime.”We talked multiple times,” Caroline said. “We got to the point of ‘how far along are you? Well, how far along are you?'”Caroline’s husband said even the nurses got in on the friendly competition. Giguere is the older twin, and her son Edson “Gray” Giguere is older than his cousin.Gray was seven pounds, 11 ounces, and was born on May 5 at 4:43 p.m.His cousin, Louise Springs Hipp was seven pounds, nine ounces and was born at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday at the same hospital.The same doctor, Dr. Mary Beck of Prisma Health Piedmont, delivered both babies.Moms, babies and dads are all doing fine.
