Gillette Stadium to have 100% capacity starting Memorial Day

Gillette Stadium will be at full capacity for events starting on Memorial Day, according to a spokesperson for the New England Patriots.The decision was made after Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker announced Monday that all remaining COVID-19 restrictions and capacity limits will be lifted effective May 29, which is a Saturday.Under the updated state guidelines, people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will no longer be required to wear masks in most settings. All industry restrictions will be lifted, and capacity will increase to 100% for all industries. The gathering limit will also be rescinded, Baker said.The Foxborough venue is home to the Patriots and the New England Revolution.The first scheduled event at Gillette Stadium after Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 31, is the opening weekend for the Premier Lacrosse League, which runs from June 4-6.The stadium is also a frequent venue for large summer concerts. The only concert currently on Gillette’s schedule is a Rammstein show scheduled for Sept. 8.The Patriots first preseason game is at home against the Washington Football Team on Aug. 12.The first post-Memorial Day match for the Revolution is against the New York Red Bulls on June 23.
