‘SNL’ recap: Best moments from Walton Goggins hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’
Walton Goggins hosted the May 10 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” with Arcade Fire as musical guest.

“SNL” returned to the air for the penultimate episode in its 50th season on Saturday, May 10, with Walton Goggins serving as host and musical guest Arcade Fire.
Goggins was hosting “SNL” for the first time after one of the busier periods of his career. The veteran character actor was a standout on Season 3 of “The White Lotus,” and his coke-addled televangelist Baby Billy Freeman was the best part of “The Righteous Gemstones,” which wrapped up its fourth and final season earlier this month.
The real veterans of this weekend’s host/musical guest pairing were Arcade Fire, who were performing at Studio 8H for the sixth time. The band also took part in the “SNL50” live concert, and were the subject of one of my favorite band-involved sketches, 2013’s “New Cast Member or Arcade Fire?”
In terms of surprise cameos this week, “SNL” welcomed back former cast member Cecily Strong, who left the show after 11 seasons in 2022. With the news that President Donald Trump appointed Fox News host Jeanine Pirro as the interim U.S. attorney for Washington D.C., Strong reprised one of her most popular impressions, spraying Pete Hegseth (Colin Jost) with wine.
