Review & setlist: Young fans lit up for Katseye at MGM Music Hall
Wednesday’s performance from the “Dream Academy” winners was short, sweet, and choreography-heavy.

Katseye at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, Boston, Nov. 19, 2025.
Katseye lit up MGM Music Hall Wednesday evening with heavy choreography, glowing “Eyelighter” light sticks, and plenty of outfit changes. The audience might not have known every word, but the group’s high energy and impossibly catchy songs made the night a solid success for their young fans.
The six members introduced themselves at the top of the show with a perfectly in-sync “Hey, it’s Katseye.” It foreshadowed flawless dance routines where each member was totally in step, with vocals to match.
Katseye was founded, like many girl and boy groups before it, on a reality TV show. Each member was a contestant on “The Debut: Dream Academy,” where they won as a group. Recently, a viral GAP jeans ad and a performance in front of a record-breaking, 85,000-person Lollapalooza crowd have put the six-member group on the map.
Members, all singers and dancers, include Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Sophia Laforteza, Manon Bannerman, Yoonchae Jeung, and Megan Skiendiel. Wednesday night was the group’s third stop on the “Beautiful Chaos” tour, their first tour ever. It will span 16 dates and 13 cities, all in North America.
Although none of the members are from Boston, early on in the night Skiendiel announced that her family was in the audience, and later, Bannerman pointed out a friend she knew from high school.
Instead of an opening act, Katseye’s music videos played on a loop for the hour before the show. Songs like “Gnarly” and “Gabriella” had the crowd dancing along to each respective TikTok dance. It seemed that what many fans had come for was the choreography, if the screams for every dance-centered song were any indication.

Opening with “Debut” set a good tone for the night — its long dance break with synchronized splits immediately wowed the audience. The members came out in black latex outfits that gave them a perfect pop star aura.
Early on, the group also sang its unreleased single, “Internet Girl,” which much of the audience already recognized from TikTok and danced along to.
“We’ve been holding on to it for so long and it feels so good to finally share it with you guys,” Avanzini told the crowd. She and Skiendiel even gave a short demonstration of the song’s choreography.
Katseye only has two EPs out, making its set list selection limited; for several songs, they pulled from their “Dream Academy” music. “We thought it would be fun to pay homage to that time that shaped us into the artists we are today,” Bannerman told the crowd.
The Latin-inspired song “Gabriela” was also a hit on stage. The group changed into long skirts midway through the performance — to the crowd’s excitement — and Avanzini performed a partner dance with a backup dancer. The music hall was blasted with red streamers and confetti as the group sang the line “Hands off Gabriela” over and over again.
If there was one drawback of the show, it was how clearly by-the-numbers it was: Despite the excitement from the choreography, the group’s superficial lyrics, short setlist (about 70 minutes in total), and obviously rehearsed talking segments made the night lack a more personal or spontaneous feel.
The songs did seem perfectly digestible for its rapt audience of middle-schoolers, though. In fact, the crowd felt so young that the occasional swear word from the group felt scandalous.
Many of the fans came with Katseye’s signature light stick, the Eyelighter, which costs a pretty penny at $64. The stick is programmed to light up in sync with the setlist.
In Act 2, “M.I.A.” stood out as one of the few songs without much choreography, instead focusing on the members’ powerful vocals as each sang their part while separated. The visuals matched the essense of the song.
“Your energy was insane tonight. Thank you so much. You guys are the best part of this tour. Even though it’s been such a crazy journey, we’re just starting out,” Raj said at the end of the night. Katseye just celebrated its two-year anniversary.
For the encore, the group performed the bubbly “Touch” and members leaned on each other as they sang the slower “My Way.”
