There was an increased police presence at a central Massachusetts high school on Thursday after a controversial social media post about the death of Charlie Kirk raised concerns about the campus’s safety, Holden police said. Holden police said a staffer at Wachusett Regional High School made the post, which “sparked heated debate, millions of views and brought into question the safety of school operations for both students and staff at WRHS,” police posted. Holden investigators, in partnership with other agencies, determined that there were no credible threats of violence at Wachusett Regional High School. Officers were still stationed at the campus on Thursday. “We will continue to monitor the situation, and we will remain in contact with WRHS administration to provide them any public safety resources necessary,” police posted. WCVB has reached out to Wachusett Regional High School for a statement and additional information about the incident but has not heard back.
