Shakira, Jason Aldean Fenway Park concerts abruptly canceled due to issues with ‘structural elements’
Fans will be refunded for the concerts, which were canceled after a routine pre-concert check showed issues with structural elements.

Two concerts at Fenway Park have been abruptly canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances,” the park’s concert series organizers announced Thursday afternoon, including a show scheduled for Thursday night.
Shakira was scheduled to perform Thursday evening at the Boston ballpark, and Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn were supposed to take the stage on Friday night. Both shows have been canceled, Fenway Park shared on social media.
“Refunds will be available at your point of purchase,” the posts said. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Live Nation, the event organizer, said structural elements were deemed potentially unsafe during a routine pre-concert check. No one was injured.
The entertainment company did not identify who performed the pre-concert check. A request to the City of Boston was not immediately returned.
