WATCH: Bagpiper performs on St. Patrick’s Day in Boston
Customers clapped along as bagpiper Nate Silva performed at Harry’s Bar and Grill on St. Patrick’s Day.

Few things feel more like St. Patrick’s Day in Boston than the sound of bagpipes cutting through a crowded bar.
That was the scene Tuesday at Harry’s Bar and Grill, where bagpiper Nate Silva brought the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with a live performance for customers celebrating the holiday. As Silva played, video shows bar-goers clapping along and gathering around to take in the moment.
According to Silva, he has “played for at least 30 spots over the last four days,” bringing his bagpipes to bars and celebrations around the city during one of his busiest stretches of the year. Part of that run includes stops with Harry’s network of bars, with a driver taking him from place to place over the course of the evening.
“We try to hit each location twice per evening—it’s a bit grueling, but it’s also truly a blast.”
Still, he says Harry’s stands out.
“At Harry’s in particular, that’s pretty much effortless. The crowd reacts the second I step in the door, and the energy grows from there.”
Silva, who goes by @passionpiping on social, has been playing Scottish bagpipes since age 11 and now performs around the country at “about 100 or so” events each year.
